About Mary Moreno Studio

Hi, I’m Mary

Self-taught watercolor artist, educator, and creative guide for beginners

When I first picked up watercolor in 2020, I had no formal training and no idea where to begin. Most resources felt dense and fast-moving, and I often wondered if I was missing something everyone else seemed to know.

Because I felt a joyful connection to watercolor from my very first experience, I focused on finding a streamlined learning path that made sense for beginners. I kept things simple, practical, and relevant to the early stages of learning. Over time, watercolor became a genuine strength — and my confidence grew right alongside my skills.

Mary Moreno Studio was created to share that same beginner-friendly path, with clear guidance and encouragement for anyone who wants a relaxed, approachable place to begin with watercolor.

A Little More About Me

  • I’m drawn to simple routines, thoughtful practice, and creative projects that fit real life.
  • Walking is my way to reset the pace, change the environment, and let ideas and solutions surface naturally.
  • I love digging into research and learning processes — it’s how I simplify watercolor concepts for beginners.
  • My favorite place to recharge is a winter beach, where everything feels spacious and unhurried.
